Psychology Department

The principal aim of the Psychology Department is to assist service users by assessing their level of intellectual and social functioning as well as their perceived needs. The Service can then support them to achieve the best they can in their everyday lives, within their residential and community settings.

The Psychology Department values working closely with other departments in the Service to build an integrated personal plan for each individual.

The primary expertise of the Department is in the area of intellectual disability but it has over the years, built up a great deal of expertise working with those who present with a variety of syndromes, autistic spectrum disorders and behaviour that challenges.
