DREAM Programme
DREAM stands for Day Recreational and Educational Activities with Meaning
The DREAM Programme was established in October 2003 on a part-time basis. Its remit was to provide a day and evening programme for service users in Special Care who did not already avail of our existing programmes. This need was highlighted through informal evaluations of the personal choices and wishes of our service users and was also indicated in their Personal Outcomes and Person Centred Plans.
The DREAM programme was extended to full-time provision between September 2004 and October 2006 when it was temporarily suspended. It was fortunately possible to re-launch it in July 2007. It is currently delivered by a staff nurse and when allocated, a student nurse or volunteer worker.
