Our beautiful new mural in the hydrotherapy pool area
This wonderful mural was formally unveiled before an appreciative audience of service users and staff on the 22nd September 2010. Bringing a welcome splash of colour to the wall overlooking the hydrotherapy pool this charming mural was designed and painted by a team of artists from Abbott Ireland (Manorhamilton Rd.). Sinead Branley, one of the artists involved in the project cut the ribbon and our Director of Client Services, Marie Gilligan then said a few words of thanks to Abbott Ireland for their unique donation. It is sure to brighten the day of the many service users who enjoy the pool facilities.
Limerick and District Motorcycle Club raise money for IONA/STEPS
In early October the Limerick and District Motorcycle Club held their annual friendship rally in County Sligo. After their gala meal at the Radisson Blu on Saturday evening a raffle was held and the proceeds very kindly donated to IONA/STEPS. The Club rode up to Cregg on Sunday which they described later as one of the highlights of their week. Many thanks to them for their thoughtfulness and generosity.

Special Olympics Ireland Games Limerick 2010
Well done to all athletes who competed in the Special Olympics Ireland 2010 in Limerick. Athletes from Wisdom Services were amongst 1,900 competing in the events which included athletics, swimming, kayaking, riding, golf and badminton. Our athletes travelled to Limerick with their crack team of coaches and supporters. They returned having had not only a wonderful time meeting old friends and making new ones but with a glorious collection of medals won in the swimming and athletics events. Our Motor Activity Team brought home remarkable 13 gold medals from their one day event on Friday. A big thank you to the many members of staff who helped make this dream come true.
